How Professionals can promote their own Mental Health with Ayurveda

Course Overview

Professionals such as Physicians, Lawyers, Accountants and Entrepreneurs like everyone else, can experience a range of mental health issues and their unique professional environment can make them particularly vulnerable to stress, burnout and other mental health challenges. Moreover, there can be a stigma associated with seeking help for mental health issues due to the fear that disclosing their struggles could negatively impact their careers or reputation. Addressing the mental health of the professionals is not only crucial for their well-being but also the overall quality of their work and work-place harmony.

It is important to manage and relax the mind from daily stress at early stages to prevent this building into more serious illness conditions. And it may be more comfortable to seek assistance for promoting mental health outside one’s own clinical practice. Ayurveda has many modalities including physical, mental and spiritual practices to promote the emotional well-being.

We have designed this course including guided approaches to self-improve mental health and emotional well-being. This is provided as an E-learning module including self-assessment Ayurvedic tools to evaluate your body constitution, status of the mind, level of stress, engagement in the mental health program and the benefits.

This is offered as Online sessions and E-learning module mainly to maintain the privacy to facilitate learning and practicing the tools in your own pace.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the you will be able to;

  1. Understand your Body Constitution (Prakrti) and inherent state of your mind
  2. Appreciate the need to engage in stress reliving relaxation activities
  3. Utilise simple Ayurvedic tools to enhance mental and physical health
  4. Increase your performances as a physician

Course Content

  1. Introduction to physical and mental vital factors governing the physiological functions
  2. Concept of Prakrti and assessment of your prakrti
  3. Concept of Sattva sara and optimum state of mind
  4. Assessment of imbalanced state of mind
  5. Mind – Body therapies for promoting mental health
  6. Guided practice of mind-body therapies

Course schedule

Two one-hour online sessions via Zoom, held on Thursday 20:00 – 21:00.

(Recording of the online sessions will be available if you are unable to attend)

E – learning sessions with fully guided sessions to practice.

Two online private sessions (30 minutes) with a tutor can be booked if required to discuss directly.
