Dr. Anura Chandrasekara belongs to a family of a renowned Traditional Medicine in which he belongs to the seventh generation of the tradition. He completed his primary and secondary education at Royal Collage, Colombo and joined the Gampaha Wickremarchchi Institute of Ayurveda, University of Kelaniya to obtain Ayurvedic Medical training. After graduating in 1991, he has served as an Ayurveda Physician in his own practice and later as a senior physician at the Barberyn Health Resort and as the Chief Physician at Riverina Health Resort in Sri Lanka. He has a long period of experience in providing Ayurvedic consultations and treatments to foreign nationals both in Sri Lanka as well as in Europe. His first appointment outside Sri Lanka was in 2002 where he was appointed as the Head Physician at Ayurvedic Ceylon Health Centre, Czeck Republic.  He moved to Germany in 2002 until now he has been working in Germany as an Ayurveda Physician. His fluency in German language has been very useful both as a clinician and also for giving lectures and seminars on Ayurveda. He is also qualified in Acupuncture and Homeopathy. His clinical expertise is in Pancakarma (Bio-purification) and he has engaged in many research projects on the clinical efficacy of Ayurvedic treatments for diabetes, asthma, arthrosis and rehabilitation of stroke patients.
